The First Week Of August

Personal advice

August 1, 2014

Hello, Hello August!

July has been a game changer month for me. I started a brand new business “Bridesmaid for Hire” and spent all of my free time learning contractual law and the benefits behind creating an LLC – business things I never knew about before.

I could use quite the tropical vacation.

But instead, like most of you, the only vacation i’ll be taking anytime soon is a night watching the Kardashians frolic around Thailand – trying to imagine myself lounging by the water with my girl Khloe.

To keep you pumped up and going this summer – here’s a list of 7 really fun articles and things to check out on the internet. Enjoy!

1. I’m bringing the Fanny Pack back.

That’s my new personal goal. It’s summertime and instead of lugging around a giant purse with you in the sticky heat – why not strap a pack around your waist and just carry the essentials. I picked one up on Amazon the other day for $4 bucks!

2. We have no time to think anymore!

This week, one of my readers sent this NY Times article to me with this note.

“We continually make ourselves overwhelmingly busy from work to social events and when we have five minutes to just be inside our own heads, we can’t handle it.  Instead of facing the problems that life hands us, we pick up our phones and look at the snapshots of good that people post on facebook/twitter.  Those people’s lives probably aren’t all that rosey! So, I hope you’re able to take a few minutes to get lost in your thoughts and come out of it refreshed and productive.”

3. Did you know that most of your favorite books…

Are written by ghostwriters? Check out a few popular examples.

4. How a professional profile picture…

Can help you out on Tinder – and other dating websites.

5. This video is beyond cute! I’ve watched it way too many times this week.

6. A playlist to ease you into next week:

 7.  People talk about NYC like.. … …

Here’s my new post of the week!
