I've Been Telling Stories for More Than 15 Years
II started my writing career at local newspapers and magazines in Florida, covering breaking news and writing feature stories. From there, I launched my personal blog, The Things I Learned From, where I published nearly 2,000 posts about life, relationships, and everything I was learning along the way.
Since then, my writing has appeared in publications including TODAY, Glamour, Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, BRAVO, Yahoo, and more than 25 other outlets. I've also written for major brands like Disney, GEICO, T-Mobile, and The Home Depot.
Along the way, I became the author of four books: All My Friends Are Engaged, Always a Bridesmaid (For Hire)!, Finally the Bride, and Gemma and Goofy's Great Ducky Adventure. Each one tells stories from a different chapter of my life, from navigating love and friendship to building an unexpected career and becoming a mom.
These days, I also write Monday Pick-Me-Up, my weekly Substack newsletter filled with personal essays about friendship, motherhood, ambition, getting older, and the wonderfully awkward experience of being human.
After all these years, my favorite part of writing hasn't changed: telling stories that make someone laugh, think, or say, "Oh good, it's not just me."
