The Real Gemma & Goofy
This story started with two very real best friends.
I'm Jen Glantz, an author, Brooklyn mom, and the person lucky enough to have a front-row seat to Gemma and Goofy's adventures.
Gemma is my daughter.
Goofy is our Havanese—and has been part of our family since before Gemma was born.
Watching the two of them grow up together gave me the idea for Gemma & Goofy’s Great Ducky Adventure.
I wanted to create a children's book that captured something I love about childhood: a completely ordinary day can feel like the biggest adventure in the world.
A trip to the park. Spotting an animal. Following something that catches your attention. Asking a million questions along the way.
The book brings Gemma and Goofy's friendship to life through a playful adventure inspired by New York City—and reminds little readers that you don't have to travel very far to find something worth exploring.
